Invation Pairs (21/4/06 to 23/4/06) - Sponsered by SBS Banking

This annual tournament has been running for the past 22 seasons and it is very popular as a final wind up of the bowls season. 32 Stoke members invite a partner each from outside of the Nelson region. Players from Auckland to as far as Bluff join us for this finale event. Play commences mid day Friday and the finals are played mid afternoon Sunday.

The format is 4 sections of 8 teams and 7 round robin games are played to qualify follow by Post sections, semi finals and finals.

The Stoke Invitation Pairs last weekend was won by Tom Kopura & Owen McQuarrie (Havelock)
defeating James Pugh & Barrie Andrews of Timaru 12 - 8 in the final .

Runner-up Neville and brother Brian Turner (Southland).

A very successful and happy weekend of bowls and fellowship culminated in close final games in all 4 divisions. The winning finalists D. Merritt and B.Barker won the event with the final bowl played.
